Initiated in 1943, the Bushmaster first saw service at the invasion of Okinawa. Capable of delivering 9000 pounds of cargo, or 30 troops moving at a rate of 17 mph overland, and 6 mph in the water. A total of 2,962 vehicles were produced. The Bushmaster remained in service until 1955 when it was superseded by the LVTP-5.
